Good evening Directors, I just wanted to let you know that I have spoken with Blaine from Brickman directly. I conveyed our wishes to update/upgrade our community and to protect the newly installed light poles from any damage from lawn mowers or weed wackers. I let him know that we would like to have an evergreen shrub and a hearty perennial flower planted around each pole with a mulch bed. We have decided on a coral bell leaf and boxwood shrub. As for the entrance, he expressed that the trees we have on the right side are deciduous and lose their leaves each year causing them to look unattractive during the winter months. I have requested that he suggest a hearty evergreen tree and/or shrub/hedge as well as perennial flowers that make our community entrance look bright and happy with rich color. Low maintenance is key as well. I also expressed that we would like to repuropse versus remove any healthy plant from our neighborhood. Finally, regarding the concern for the best time to plant the new foliage, he mentioned that it would be best to do so before the end of the month of May. He is actively working on a proposal.
I will keep you updated as to when the proposal is ready for review.

Good afternoon Board Members,
As per our phone conference this evening, the following actions will be executed.
*Approval of watering of plants not to exceed $1100/month--completed (Maritsa) *Request proposal for mulch beds with boxwood and coral bell flowers and the installation of 2 hedges in the front mulch bed--Right (Maritsa) *Request proposal for removal and replacement of the 3-4 dead/dying trees a the entrance--right--with an evergreen variety *Request removal of the old water hose at the front sign--Left (Maritsa) *Request proposal for pressure cleaning and refurbishing of the front sign--Left (Barry) *Gain knowledge and details regarding the "tree voucher program" (Monica) *Obtain recommendations from Brickman as to how to proceed with improvement of common area grass (Maritsa)
Projects to be started and/or completed in 2017:
*Removal of front mulch bed and flowers surrounding the front sign--Left (Maritsa) *Installation of lights for front sign--Left (Barry) *Use of red mulch for front left and right mulch beds (Maritsa) *Removal of 2-5 Pear Trees/year until all are replaced (Maritsa)
I will discuss options for how best to start funding projects according to community priorities with Maredith (Charles): Tree removal and replacement; Blacktop trellis; Tot lot overhaul; Asphalt overhaul. Please see more information on these projects under their respective threads.
I will keep you updated with pertinent details.
